Biography

Sophia Ferrera is a Boston-based choreographer and dance instructor. She began her 15 years of dance training at Dance Carousel in Scituate, Massachusetts. She matriculated magna cum laude from the Tandon School of Engineering at New York University, and is an NASM Certified Personal trainer. She discovered her passion for teaching while attending NYU, and instructed 400+ students during her time as the Head Teaching Assistant of NYU Tandon’s Innovation and Technology Forum.

Combining her love for teaching and dance, Ferrera enjoys utilizing an integrated approach in the dance classroom. She is passionate about providing students at any level with an exciting and growth-oriented dance experience. She aims to cultivate a positive environment for new dancers and encourage a life-long appreciation for the arts in the Boston Ballet CityDance program, The Roxbury Latin School, and beyond. 

In recent days, she has been choreographing and teaching contemporary, tap, jazz technique, and conditioning classes for the competitive Ensemble Dance Team at Zeal Performing Arts Studio on the South Shore.
